Peter sails again. This time he is traveling to Alaska where he finds out that sailing in the Arctic is more difficult than he anticipated and that new friends and adventures await him.
Peter sails along the coast of Alaska looking for new adventures. He meets some of his old friends again, such as Push the tugboat, Fluke the Whale and Gulp the Tanker. He also makes new ones who actually live in Alaska, Hazel the Harbor Seal and Baldie the Eagle.
When Peter has difficulties finding his way around all the islands, Hazel and Baldie show him the way and Hazel stays with him to make sure he does not get lost again. They end up in a fog bank which makes sailing extra difficult and during the night they see the Northern Light.
More to the North, it is getting real cold and they enter a bay full of glaciers. The glaciers then throw so much ice in the water behind him, that Peter gets stuck in it. Hazel swims away to get help from Fluke the Whale and his family, but they too can’t get Peter out. Luckily they find Push the Tugboat and he is strong enough to push the ice away so Peter is free again.
At the end of the story Peter is resting near a town and looks forward to his next adventure.
