Children's Books

Peter the Cruise Ship Series

Children, especially those between the ages of two and eight, are fascinated by transportation and motion, but very few children's books on sale today are about ships and the sea. Peter the Cruise Ship relates information about cruise ships, other types of ships, and sea life in an entertaining way. Even more, Peter presents key childhood issues friendship, teamwork, dealing with fear, standing up for each other and cooperation, even geography in a first-person experience that makes Peter the Cruise Ship unique.

Peter The Cruise Ship

Peter is a happy cruise ship, who travels all over the world with his friends, and has many adventures.

Peter is ready to set sail. Out at sea, he joins his friends, Slick the Container Ship, Rusty the Cargo Ship, Gulp the Oil Tanker, and Push the Tugboat. At first, none of them care very much for Push because he likes to bump into other ships and doesn't seem very friendly. Besides, he's, well pushy! Then, a storm erupts one morning and Rusty can't handle the high waves. He asks for help. Of course, Peter helps as much as he can, but surprisingly, so does Push. Together they bring Rusty to a safe harbor. Peter has to move on as fast as he can, because now he's late for his arrival at his next harbor. He's in such a hurry that he drops his anchor on top of Fluke the Whale. Fluke has a sore head, and Peter apologizes for being careless. Apology accepted, Peter returns to his home port and all his friends are there to welcome him back.

Peter The Cruise Ship to Alaska!!

Peter is a happy cruise ship, who travels all over the world with his friends, and has many adventures.

Peter's second adventure takes him to Alaska where he finds out that sailing in the Arctic is more difficult than he thought. He meets some of his old friends again, as well as new ones who actually live in Alaska: Hazel the Harbor Seal and Baldie the Eagle. When Peter has difficulties finding his way around all the islands, Hazel and Baldie help out, and Hazel stays with him to make sure he doesn't get lost again. The fog bank makes sailing extra difficult, but during the night they see the Northern Lights. It is a beautiful sight! Sailing north, they enter a bay full of glaciers. The glaciers throw so much ice in the water that Peter gets stuck. Hazel swims away to get help from Fluke and his family, but they can't get Peter out. Luckily, they find Push the Tugboat, and he is strong enough to move the ice and free Peter. Their teamwork saves the day again!

Peter the Cruise Ship and the Pirates

Peter is a happy cruise ship, who travels all over the world with his friends, and has many adventures.

Peter's third adventure takes him to the Caribbean Sea. It's a perfect day filled with sunshine. He toots his horn and sings a song when he passes the Hazy Islands. Peter thinks he is being watched from the shadows. Hearing someone calling for help, he turns around and sees the beautiful sailing ship Creola being chased by ... PIRATES!! When the pirates see Peter, they turn on him as well, and Peter and Creola hide behind some islands. Bandit, the lead pirate, spots them and he and his three accomplices give chase. Peter toots his horn as loud as he can, and he is heard throughout the Caribbean. His friends sail over quickly, with Push the Tugboat in the lead. Push even breaks Bandit's mast when he bumps into him! Together they scare the pirates away, who are, after all, nothing but bullies.
